Baggage Delay & 1 hour On-time Guarantee Protection is especially designed for travelers purchasing AirAsia Premium Flex/Premium Flatbed/Value Pack seats.

With this protection, you are assured a compensation in the event that your flight is delayed for more than 1 hour or if your baggage is delayed for more than 6 hours. These benefits take effect from 6 July 2017.

1. Who is entitled to this protection?

All guests who have upgraded their fares to either Premium Flex/Premium Flatbed/Value Pack. You may refer to this illustration below.

2. Is this protection applicable to Fly-Thru, Island and City Transfers?

This protection only applies to direct flights. It is not applicable to Fly-Thru, Island and City Transfers. Please also note that this protection does not apply to flights to Auckland, Honolulu and Dhaka.

3. I only upgraded to Premium Flex/Premium Flatbed/Value Pack for one journey of my return trip, am I entitled to claim for both journeys?

No. The Baggage Delay & 1 hour On-time Guarantee Protection will be applicable to only that segment of your upgraded journey based on your Travel Itinerary.

Example scenario 1:


  • You purchased a return ticket for Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore.
  • You’ve upgraded to Premium Flex and included the Baggage Delay & 1 hour On-time Guarantee Protection only for the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur sector, then the benefits are applicable only for the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur sector.
