1. Who is Tune Insurance Malaysia Berhad?

Tune Insurance Malaysia Berhad is an insurer licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia that provides a comprehensive range of general insurance solutions through multiple distribution channels, both online and offline, to balance the needs of different consumer groups.

2. What is Tune Protect PRO-Health Medical?

PRO-Health Medical is an online-only medical insurance plan, providing coverage for hospitalisation and surgical expenses incurred due to various illnesses or accidents. PRO-Health Medical is available exclusively online. This product does not have any savings or investment elements.

3. What are the major benefits under this plan?

  • Out-Patient Treatments

4. Why should I buy PRO-Health Medical?

Besides covering your hospitalisation expenses, we also provide:

  1. A lump sum under the Mosquito-Borne Disease Allowance if you are diagnosed and admitted to the hospital for Dengue Virus, Zika Virus, Malaria, Chikungunya or Japanese Encephalitis.
  2. Reimbursement for Alternative & Chiropractic Treatment by a traditional medicine practitioner, osteopath, chiropractor, herbalist or bonesetter for further treatment of your injuries after your discharge from the hospital.

5. Do I have to undergo a medical check up to be able to purchase a PRO-Health Medical plan?

No, you do not. A medical check up is not required. However, you are required to declare your health condition truthfully when purchasing PRO-Health Medical online.

6. Does the product provide Cashless Admission?

Yes, it does. We will issue and store your e-medical card in our Tune Protect App, available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

7. What is the eligibility age for PRO-Health Medical?

PRO-Health Medical provides coverage for individuals aged 18 to 65 years old (on their next birthday). However, new applications will only be accepted for individuals between the age of 18 to 45 years old.

8. Who can purchase PRO-Health Medical?

Both Malaysian citizens and non-Malaysians can purchase this product. Only one policy per person is allowed.

9. Can I claim income tax relief for the premiums I paid for PRO-Health Medical?

Yes, PRO-Health Medical is eligible for income tax relief.

10. What type of plans are available?

We have 4 plans with Annual Limits ranging from RM 30,000 to RM 150,000 which you may choose from according to your lifestyle and needs.

11. What is not covered by PRO-Health Medical?

Some of the major exclusions for PRO-Health Medical are:

    • Pre-existing illnesses
    • Maternity
    • Plastic Surgery

12. What if I have an existing medical condition?

You will not be eligible to purchase PRO-Health Medical. Instead, please contact our friendly Tune Protect Malaysia agents who will be able to assist you with alternative solutions.

13. What is the Annual Limit and Lifetime Limit?

The Annual Limit is the maximum amount you can claim in a year for your plan. There is no Lifetime Limit for PRO-Health Medical, that means that the Annual Limit will be reinstated every year upon renewal.

14. How and where do I buy the PRO-Health Medical? What documents do I need to provide?

It’s as simple as answering some questions and choosing your plan in less than 5 minutes! There are no documents needed.

You can purchase the product by downloading our Tune Protect App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Or, you may purchase it from our website www.tuneprotect.com.

You can also register an account with us (via the Tune Protect App or website) to manage your policies effectively and to receive updates on our latest promotions and products in a timely manner.

15. What happens after I purchase my insurance?

After your payment is processed successfully, an SMS text will be sent to your phone confirming that your policy has been issued. The policy documents will be emailed to you at the same time. Additionally, we will also store your policy documents in your account if you have downloaded Tune Protect App.

16. After payment, I realised I made a mistake when I was submitting the application for my policy. What do I do?

17. How do I make claims?

Please refer to our Starter Kit for more information. It’s really convenient with our Tune Protect App and Cashless Admission. You may contact our Third-Party Administrator, MiCare at 1-800-88-7940 (available 24 hours), who will assist you with any queries or problems you may have..

18. Can I make a claim immediately?

After a successful application, there will be a waiting period of 120 days for Specified Illnesses, and 30 days for any other coverage. Coverage for Accidents can be made immediately provided that the accident occurred after the policy commencement date. The waiting period is only applicable for the first year of insurance, and not for any subsequent continuous renewals.

19. Can I change or upgrade my plan?

You can only change or upgrade your plan after applying for the first time or at the time of renewal. Therefore, you are encouraged to choose the appropriate plan for yourself before you make payment. Any change or upgrading of plans will be subject to our underwriting assessment again.
