1. What is COVID Travel Pass+?

COVID Travel Pass+ is an inbound travel insurance policy designed to provide coverage for foreign travelers travelling to Malaysia

2. Does COVID Travel Pass+ cover medical expenses for COVID-19?

Yes, it covers medical expenses for COVID-19 up to MYR 350,000.

3. Does COVID Travel Pass+ enforce an age limit?

Yes, COVID Travel Pass+ impose an age limit of 30 days and up to maximum of 70 years old

4. What should I put as the effective date of the policy?

Your date of arrival in Malaysia is recommended as the effective date.

5. For what period of coverage should I purchase COVID Travel Pass+?

Your period of coverage should follow the duration that you are planning to be in Malaysia. COVID Travel Pass+ offers coverage for up to a maximum of 60 days.

6. Does COVID Travel Pass+ cover Medical Expenses for COVID-19 only?

Besides medical expenses for COVID-19, COVID Travel Pass+ also offers coverage for personal accidents, travel inconveniences, medical expenses, ground inconveniences, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation due to accident, as well as 24-hour travel assistance services.

7. Does the COVID Travel Pass+ policy cover for cost of COVID-19 tests?

No, COVID Travel Pass+ does not cover the cost of your COVID-19 tests.

8. Do I need to get COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (“PCR Test”) before departure?

Yes, you must ensure that you have negative COVID-19 PCR Test result within 72 hours before departing on your scheduled flight from your origin country.

9. My visa entry into Malaysia is rejected by embassy. Can I cancel my policy and get a refund?

No. The COVID Travel Pass+ policy is not cancellable or refundable once the Certificate of Insurance is issued.

10. If I have to be admitted to a hospital, who should I contact?

Please call Tune Protect Travel 24/7 Emergency Assistance number: 603-7841 5788.

It is important that you call this number for more details before you take any action. As for outpatient treatment, please retain all original receipts and submit the claim to Tune Protect.

11. If I’m tested positive for COVID-19 but I don’t have any symptom. Will Tune Protect pay for the medical expense?

COVID Travel Pass+ covers eligible hospitalisation treatment expenses for COVID-19 patients who are in Stage 3, 4 or 5 only.

12. Does COVID Travel Pass+ offer cashless admission at hospitals?

No. The COVID Travel Pass+ coverage is on reimbursement basis only.

13. I have to leave Malaysia earlier than initially planned. Can I get a refund for the period that I will not be in Malaysia?

No, the COVID Travel Pass+ policy is not cancellable or refundable.

14. Is the coverage RM350,000 for medical expenses for the whole insurance period?

Yes, the medical expenses coverage of RM 350,000 covers the whole insurance period while you are in Malaysia, for up to 60 days.

15. There is a change of plan on my arrival date. Can I change my policy start date?

No, you can’t alter the policy start date. The coverage commences when you check in at the point of immigration and have obtained immigration clearance to enter in Malaysia, or the commencement date as specified in the Certificate of Insurance, whichever is later.

16. I had extended my stay in Malaysia, can I change my policy duration?

No. The maximum coverage duration is 60 days.

17. Can I purchase more than 1 policy?

In the event you are covered by more than one policy purchased, the benefits will be payable by the policy that provides the greatest amount of coverage. If the coverage for each policy is identical, we will only entertain the claims for the policy that was first issued.

18. I have an existing sickness/illnesses and require treatment in Malaysia. Does this policy cover my sickness/illness?

No, pre-existing condition will be excluded.

19. Am I eligible for COVID Travel Pass+?

COVID Travel Pass+ is only eligible for everyone except the following : You are Malaysia Citizen, Permanent Residence of Malaysia or holding a valid work permit that allowing you to work in Malaysia.

20. I require to stay in Malaysia more than 60 days. Can I purchase another policy after the maximum 60 days cover period?

No, we can't cover more than 60 days cover period.

21. I am a Malaysian. Can I buy COVID Travel Pass+?

No, COVID Travel Pass+ is only for foreign nationalities who intend to travel from other countries into Malaysia.
