The TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR cover is specially designed for SalamAir by respective Insurance Underwriters who issue you with the certificate of insurance during your flight booking.To know your respective Insurance Underwriters, please click here

2. What is my insurance coverage under TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR?

TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR includes cover for overseas medical expenses, travel cancellation, missed departure, baggage and personal effects, travel delay, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation and personal accident.

Please refer the Policy Wording for the full terms, conditions and exclusions of the coverage.

3. When does my TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR coverage begin?
+

The Return-Trip Plans commence when you check-in for your SalamAir Departure Flight and terminate when you have reached the flight terminal on your SalamAir Return Flight. The Return-Trip (Inbound) commences when you check-in at the immigration of your SalamAir schedule destination (country of arrival) and terminates when you check-out at the immigration of your SalamAir schedule destination.

The One-Way Plan commences when you check-in for your SalamAir Departure Flight and terminates when you have arrived at the flight terminal of your SalamAir destination.

4. Does TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR enforce age limit?

Yes, the passengers must be at least 2 years old and does not exceed 75 years of age to qualify for TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy.

5. Do I need medical examination to purchase Tune Protect Travel – SalamAir policy?
+

Medical examination is not required. Please note that claims arising from pre-existing medical conditions are excluded under TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy.

6. Can I still purchase Tune Protect Travel – SalamAir policy if I have a Pre-existing Condition?
+

Yes, however, TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR has exclusions on Pre-existing Conditions as stated in the policy's Full Terms and Conditions.

"Pre-existing Condition" refers to injury, sickness, disease, illness or other medical conditions that required medical treatments from a Physician two (2) years preceding the Policy effective date, or a condition for which hospitalization or surgery was required five (5) years preceding the Policy effective date.

7. Can I pay extra to cover pre-existing medical conditions?

No, there is no option to pay extra to obtain cover for pre-existing medical conditions under the TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR policies.

8. Can I amend my Tune Protect Travel – SalamAir policy?
+

You are allowed to amend your Tune Protect Travel – SalamAir policy only if you are allowed to make changes to your flight itinerary and the travel period should be the same as your original booking. Such changes are allowed 24 hours prior to flight departure time, with an email to [email protected].

The existing Tune Protect Travel – SalamAir policy coverage will be extended to your new travel period.

9. Can I cancel my Tune Protect Travel – SalamAir policy?

TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR cannot be cancelled because the travel cancellation benefit is already effected upon purchase.

10. Is Tune Protect Travel - SalamAir premium refundable?

The Premium is non-refundable.

11. Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when traveling?
+

We encourage you to do so but you will be covered even if you don’t have the certificate with you during your trip.

12. Am I required to carry any additional documents to proof my purchase when I am traveling?
+

No, your purchase confirmation is printed on your SalamAir travel itinerary.

13. Where should I indicate my nominee for receiving benefits?
+

The Estate Administration Laws of the respective countries will determine the lawful recipient of your benefits, in the event of death or total permanent disability.

14. What happens to my Tune Protect Travel - SalamAir policy if SalamAir reschedules my Return Flight to a later date?
+

Your coverage is automatically extended to cover you for a period of 3 days beyond your maximum coverage period offered by TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR, if your Return Flight is rescheduled by SalamAir to a later date.

15. What is the maximum coverage period offered under Tune Protect Travel – SalamAir policies?

We offer coverage based on the travel itinerary booked and the table below will provide an indicative understanding of your maximum coverage period.

1. How do I purchase a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy?

You can purchase a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR policy online when you book your flight(s) at www.salamair.com or any other sales shops managed by SalamAir or its appointed agents.

2. Can I purchase a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy after booking my flight?

Yes. You can purchase the policy on https://booking.salamair.com/en/mmb or any other sales shops managed by SalamAir or its appointed agents.

3. Can I purchase a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy if I am not a resident of the Sultanate of Oman?

You can purchase TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR policy even if you are not a resident of Sultanate of Oman and/or do not live in Sultanate of Oman provided you have purchased a ticket from SalamAir for flights departing from Sultanate of Oman.

4. If I am travelling with my friend, do we both need to buy separate TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policies?

Yes, you both need to buy separate policies.

5. How do I purchase a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR policy for an infant?
+

TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR is not available for infants. Insureds must be at a minimum age of 2 years old to qualify for a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy.

6. Can I purchase a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy if I am traveling for more than 90 days?

The TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR policy is only available for trips between 1-90 days. If you are traveling for more than 90 days, coverage will end on the 91st day after the departure date.

7. Can I purchase TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy for One Way coverage if I purchased a return flight ticket?

No, your TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR is based on your SalamAir Travel Itinerary, if you've purchased a return ticket; TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR will cover you for that particular return trip.

1. If a natural disaster occurs in the country that I plan to visit, and I have purchased a TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy, am I entitled to cancel my Journey and make a claim?

No, TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR does not cover any voluntary trip cancellations due to natural disaster. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for more details.

2. Does TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy cover Professional Sports and other similar activities?

No. TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR does not cover Professional Sports and other similar activities. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for further details.

3. Can I cancel my flight for any reason and get a refund through my Trip Cancellation Benefit?

The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for the reasons stated under the Terms and Conditions, namely unforeseen emergencies such as illness, injury or death involving you, your travel companion and/or an immediate family member.

4. Does my Baggage and Personal Effects Benefit cover theft?

Yes, TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR covers theft and damage due to attempted theft as long as it occurs during your trip

5. Are gifts and articles purchased during the Journey covered?

Yes, they are covered, subject to the Terms and Conditions of the TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR policy.

6. Are you covered under the TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR policy if you ship your baggage home prior to your scheduled return trip to save costs?

No. Unaccompanied baggage will not be covered.

7. Can the sum insured for baggage and personal effects covered under the TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy be increased? Answer:

No, there is no option under the policy to increase the sum insured for any benefit under the TUNE PROTECTTRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy.

8. What shall I do if I encounter an accident abroad?

It is important that you call one of these numbers for more details before you take any action. As for outpatient treatment, please retain all original receipts and submit your claim upon return.

9. Can I continue with my medical treatment for injuries sustained overseas when I return home?

Yes, you can continue your treatment as long as the initial treatment is received during the trip and all expenses are incurred within 30 days after the expiry of your TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR.

10. If I need treatment for an illness during my trip, can I claim for medical, hospital or any other related expenses?

Yes, you can claim for your sickness-related medical expenses under TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy.

1. If the Customs Department were to confiscate anything from me, could I make a claim under the TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL – SALAMAIR policy?

No, cover for claims arising from confiscation by authorities is excluded.

2. How do I file a claim?

Please file in your claim at our online portal here or alternatively, you may download the Claim Form here and upon completion, please fax and mail the duly completed form and claim supporting documents to the fax number and address stated in the Claim Form.

3. How long does it take before my claims are processed?

Your claim will be processed within 7 working days after you have submitted all the required documents.

4. What is the time limit for me to file a claim?
+

All claims must be filed to the respective insurance underwriters within 30 days from the date of occurrence of the event together with all supporting documents.

5. What shall I do if I disagree with a claim decision made?
+

TUNE PROTECT TRAVEL - SALAMAIR will advise you in writing of your rights to appeal against a claims decision and the procedures for filing an appeal with the respective insurance underwriters.
