Tune Protect Eco-Bazaar

The highlight of Phase 2 of the Tune Protect Orang Asli (OA) Financial Literacy, Empowerment & Entrepreneurship (FLEE) Programme was when Tune Protect showcased eco-friendly and sustainable products at the Eco- Bazaar organised at Wisma Tune in 2019. It was to acknowledge and celebrate the registrations of 3 OA FLEE businesses with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia).

OA Zara Enterprise ladies from the Jahut tribe in Pahang promoting “akar kayu” for ailments and hand beaded bracelets

For the first time, the OA entrepreneurs – OA Bamboo Straw Enterprise and OA Zara, were proud to showcase their products, namely bamboo straws and rattan brush sets, hand beaded bracelets and traditional medicines to relieve certain ailments. What is more both enterprises made good sales to the tune of RM460/- and RM220/- respectively much to their delight.

Together with other social enterprises and environmentally conscious companies, the OA entrepreneurs were exposed to responsible entrepreneurship and for our Tune protectors who were there to give support - what better way to create awareness and enable social change on our CSR initiatives. Several social enterprises who joined the bazaar bandwagon also sold their green range of non-toxic, biodegradable and environmentally friendly items to those who attended for the day.
