Tune Protect Group Berhad (“Tune Protect”, “Group”) is a financial holding company listed on the main market of Bursa Malaysia (Malaysia Stock Exchange).

Tune Protect is a vertically integrated insurer offering General and Life insurance, Reinsurance and Insurtech propositions all under one roof.

With the tagline ‘Insurance Simplified’, Tune Protect aspires to be the lifestyle insurer that everyone loves in the region by simplifying the insurance experience leveraging digital and offer an array of affordable, and comprehensive protection plans and propositions to suit the needs of individuals and businesses in the Health, Lifestyle and SME pillars.

Through its insurance, reinsurance and marketing arms in Malaysia, Thailand and the UAE, Tune Protect has established a global presence across 49 countries, working with 29 local underwriters via strategic partnerships in these markets.



Tune Protect is open to working with various partners that are looking to embed travel and lifestyle insurance solutions into their digital platforms. To date, the group has collaborated with more than 80 partners globally in diverse industries such as airline, property, logistics and telecommunications; not to mention services including e-wallets, loyalty programmes, healthtech, aggregators, e-commerce and others.

White Label is the Insurtech arm for the global Group of insurer and re-insurer entities, Tune Protect Group Berhad (“Group”) based in Kuala Lumpur.

White Label plays a pivotal role across the B2B, B2B2C and B2C segments within the insurance sector. Its versatility lies in the ability to accelerate digital product creation and enhance time-to-market, especially in the face of legacy platforms that pose challenges for developing new-age digital products.

It consolidates and centralises the Group’s homegrown digital assets and serves as a greenfield platform to digitise consumers’ experience in how insurance is understood, bought, managed, and claimed.

White Label is a one-stop shop that powers solutions for affinity partners, products, distribution, and partnerships.

In-house Support

Provides in-house dedicated digital technology support, open Application Programming Interface (API), Business-to-Consumer (“B2C”) web and mobile application, as well as integration with partner application/platform.

Homegrown Technology

White Label developed its own proprietary technology, all out of its head office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The homegrown technologies include among others, Rocketship, MarZ, and a Travel B2B platform.

Our B2B Technology, developed in-house by White Label is a digital facilitator of superior and customisable Travel, Lifestyle, Bite sized products & non-travel products for our Airline, B2B & B2B2C customers.

Seamless Integration


Besides providing B2B portal, the technology boasts of an API capability allowing our distribution partners to seamlessly integrate and offer the Travel Insurance plans on their own platforms.

The technology has a proven track record of delivering incremental ancillary revenue stream, primarily Travel Insurance products; catering to the Travel Industry – Airlines, Travel Agencies, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), Travel Management Companies (TMCs), Insurance Brokers, Travel Insurance Aggregators etc.


About Us

The Group’s reinsurance arm maintains a robust global presence across diverse markets, facilitating market activation for our partners, notably within the airline sector. Our current operational scope encompasses collaboration with more than 29 underwriters across 49 countries, complemented by a comprehensive network of Third-Party Administrators (TPA). Additionally, we have an experienced team overseeing both airline and non-airline reinsurance operations, spanning from the front end of client engagement up to the intricacies of back-end operations.


Initially established as a conventional travel reinsurer, our reinsurance arm has significantly diversified its portfolio over time. Presently, we offer an array of innovative travel products, encompassing parametric travel solutions, health products, and various lifestyle offerings, including pet travel coverage. Additionally, through our retakaful window, we actively underwrite and support reinsurance arrangements for Hajj and Umrah travel products in collaboration with insurance partners across diverse markets.

Beyond our reinsurance services, we strive to deliver comprehensive value to our partners. We provide sophisticated technological solutions that enable seamless digital experiences for our insurance partners, encompassing the entirety of the sales process to claims management.

The reinsurance arm is a flexible reinsurer that is able to offer innovative and competitive product and pricing with a fast turnaround time. It is recognized for its adaptability, characterised by the ability to deliver innovative and competitive products with expedited turnaround time. We work directly with insurers, reinsurance brokers, and distribution partners to foster mutual portfolio growth.



Digital Affinity Partners

We work with our partners by providing insurance and reinsurance capabilities, the technical know-how in product set up and pricing as well as underwriting assessment services, and the Tech capabilities to power the end-to-end sales management and performance tracking.

To date, our tech capabilities are currently being used in 49 countries through various B2B, B2B2C and B2C portals of our digital and affinity partners from a diversified list of industries such as airline, property, logistics, e-wallet, telco, super app, reward programmes and other lifestyle brands in the region.

We have successfully onboarded more than 80 digital affinity partners, which gives us access to more than 150 million customers in the various lifestyle and travel businesses.

We currently work with 7 airline partners such as AirAsia, AirAsiaX, AirArabia, Vietjet Air, SalamAir and Fly Arna.

The key success factors of our partnership proposition are our great emphasis on e-commerce and the readiness of our API that can integrate with any partner’s existing digital platform which gives our partners the advantage of speed-to-market in distribution of insurance.

In Malaysia, we partnered bolttech, the international insurtech to launch a new generation of device protection solutions and support services in Malaysia. Tune Protect is the exclusive underwriter for the device insurance coverage, while bolttech is the provider of the device support services.

We partnered BaoViet Insurance, the largest general insurance company in Vietnam by offering our tech capabilities for them to distribute Travel insurance via the flight booking platform of Vietjet Air. The Travel insurance option is built onto the flight booking platform during the customers’ purchase journey before concluding their purchase. This is an area of our forte as we have a tested and proven travel tech platform and extensive experience given our long-standing partnership with AirAsia.

With the rising popularity and usage of e-wallets, we have also jumped on the bandwagon to offer Flight Delay protection on MoMo’s e-wallet platform, the largest e-wallet in Vietnam (underwritten by BaoViet). In this instance, customers who purchase the Flight Delay protection and experience a delay in their flights, will receive the claim pay out instantly in their e-wallet. Our tech works on a real time basis to trigger the claims pay out upon detection of delay and customers will receive a payout notification which they can use immediately at the airport while waiting for their rescheduled flights. Similarly in Malaysia, we worked with AirAsia and BigPay on Flight Delay Insurance with instant claim payout.

When the Langkawi International Bubble was rolled out in November 2021 to receive international tourists, a few insurers were approached including us to integrate inbound Travel insurance in their portal. The deadline given for integration was really tight, and Tune Protect was the only insurer who could go live in 3 days at that juncture.

B2C Channel – Mobile Apps

In powering our own digital channels, we are committed to being a mobile-first company to create the best experience for our customers. The Tune Protect mobile apps are currently available in Malaysia and Thailand and are powered by our B2C transactions engine to provide a seamless end-to-end customer experience in managing customers’ insurance needs. From purchasing, making a claim and tracking the status, to customer servicing, customers are in control of managing their insurance, all at their fingertips.

There are currently 13 Health and Lifestyle products available on the Malaysia app. Some of the products include Home Easy, a Houseowner and Householder product on the app with the flexibility for customers to top up additional benefits which included Landlord Insurance, Mortgage Loan Insurance, and Smart Home Protection, among others to suit their lifestyle needs and their budget; and PRO-Health Medical, a cashless medical plan with an e-card available on the app, with various plans for customers to choose from.

Our app in Thailand was launched in 2022 with 5 Health and Lifestyle products (in different variations) offered on the platform. One particular product that is unique is the Critical Illness plan, myFlexi CI due to its flexibility for customers to customise their protection, i.e., choose their CIs, and adjust, increase or reduce premiums based on their budget. All these can be done via the app that is powered by our tech. Aside to providing access to purchase, claim, check status and customer service, the app in Thailand also features the access to supplementary medical services such as second medical opinion and telemedicine consultation for customers who purchase myFlexi CI.

First insurer on Cloud

Tune Protect made a giant leap to be the Malaysia’s first insurer to leverage SAP insurance core and core on the cloud, to replace its legacy general insurance core system. The implementation of the new core system is a key component of Tune Protect’s continuous efforts in its digital transformation journey to enhance customer experience further.

Partnering with SAP Malaysia, Serole Technologies and Huawei Malaysia, the new system, which went live from October 2022, is a configurable general insurance core system that leverages cloud technology to provide faster and more efficient service to its customers.

The core system streamlines policy processing and claims cycles through workflow simplification and automation. This aligns with Tune Protect’s 3:3:3 customer commitment, ensuring quick insurance purchases, responses, and claim payments for a seamless customer experience. Improved digital insurance capabilities and innovative products contribute to this.


Furthermore, the core system reduces time-to-market and supports speed-to-market innovation, enabling Tune Protect to outpace competitors and respond promptly to customer demands in a highly competitive industry with evolving needs and regulations.
